John Lechler – Director of Softball Operations
John played baseball through college attending Livingston University in Alabama as a pitcher and first baseman. Since his playing days, he has coached various levels of baseball, softball, football, and basketball. John was a head coach for 11 seasons in LLGSL Juniors and Minors as well as two seasons for a short season summer travel team. He has been an assistant coach in the Ashburn Shooting Stars organization and was part of the 2001 10 & under Pony National Champions and the 2002 12 & under Pony National 3rd place team. John has also been an assistant and head coach in Dulles Little League as well as coaching a local travel team.
Jennifer (Potts) Traina - Senior Hitting / Pitching Instructor
Jennifer graduated from Loudoun Valley High School in 1999 as the VHSL AA State Player of the Year. She continued her playing career at Longwood University where she garnered such honors as CVAC Softball Most Valuable Player, CVAC Female Athlete of the Year, Longwood University Female Athlete of the Year, and Academic All-American First Team. She was also nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year in 2003. After her playing career ended, Jennifer began coaching as an assistant in the Baseliners organization and is currently the head Varsity coach at Briar Woods High School and was named 2008 Dulles District Coach of the Year.
Megan Smith - Senior Hitting Instructor
Megan graduated from Park View High School in 2002 and completed her career as the Patriots won the AA State Championship. She was a four-time first team All-District and All-Loudoun Extra member, a three time first team All-Region and All-State selection, and a three time All-Met player. She played four years of Division I softball at James Madison University where she held the school record for doubles until 2008. In 2006, she was named to the Academic All-American team. After completing her career at JMU, Megan helped coach the Turner Ashby High School softball team and the Smashing Apples travel team. She is currently a 10th grade History teacher at Loudoun Valley High School and is the Head Varsity Coach at Heritage High School in Leesburg.
Lori Potts - Pitching / Hitting Instructor
Lori graduated from Loudoun Valley High School in 2003 where she helped lead the Vikings to the AA State Championship with a 22-1-1 record. As a senior, she was selected as a First Team All-District, First Team All-Loudoun Extra, First Team All-Region, and Honorable Mention All-State member. She was also named LVHS Female Athlete of the Year. She continued her softball career at Frostburg State University where she was named Breakthrough Female Athlete of the Year as a freshman. She is a three-time All-AMCC Selection and was ranked 46th in the country in batting average in 2005 (.448). After suffering a broken arm as a junior, Lori came back as a senior to be selected as Most Valuable Player and was nominated for both Comeback Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year. She holds the career record for appearances as a pitcher and is ranked 2nd in shutouts and strikeouts. Lori is currently the Head Freshman Volleyball Coach and the Assistant Varsity Softball Coach at Briar Woods High School in Ashburn.
Angela Hufford - Hitting Instuctor
Angela graduated from South Lakes High School in 1997. She was a four year Varsity player while setting school records in innings and games played as well as on-base percentage. She signed to play at West Liberty State College before her career was ended due to injury. Since graduating, Angela has coached youth teams in Reston in addition to being the Head JV Coach at South Lakes.
Kathy Moore - Senior Pitching Instructor
Kathy was the head coach at Chantilly High School from 1991 until 2005. She led her teams to four district titles, one regional title, and two state appearance and was named the Concorde District Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2001. She graduated from James Madison High School in 1985 as a four time All-District, three time All-Region, and one time All-Met player. She was also named the Journal Newspaper Player of the Year two years. Kathy attended the University of South Carolina where she pitched and played in the outfield. She played in the College World Series in 1989. Kathy was inducted into the James Madison HS Hall of Fame in 1996.
